Aljaž Farasin

He began his career as a soloist in 2009 and since then he appeared in numerous performances of tenor roles: Don José (Carmen), Duca di Mantova (Rigoletto), Alfredo (Traviata), Ismaele (Nabucco), Macduff (Macbeth), Rodolfo (La bohème), Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly), Boris (Katya Kabanova), Naraboth (Salome), Jaquino (Fidelio), Daland’s steersman (Der fliegende Hölander), Sempronio (Der Apotheker), Lenski (Eugene Onegin), Werther (Werther), Fenton (Falstaff), Romeo (Romeo et Juliette), Godefroy de Vaudemont (Iolanta),  Tamino (Die Zauberflöte), Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni), Nemorino (L´Elisir D´Amore), Rinnucio (Gianni Schicchi), Camille in (The Merry Widow), Alfred (Die Fledermaus), Ecclitico (Il Mondo della Luna) and title role in Gound’s Faust, recorded for Naxos, alongside Carlo Colombara, Lucio Gallo, Marjukka Tepponen, Diana Haller, Waltteri Torikka, and Ville Matvejeff conducting. With the Rijeka Opera Company he also recorded Von Suppe’s Il Ritorno del Marinaio (the role of Niccolo).

As Don José in Bizet’s Carmen he was on tours in Belgium, Netherlands and in Japan.

His concert repertoire is rich as well and it includes, among others, Verdi’s Messa da Requiem as well as Mozart’s Requiem.

Besides the mentioned collaborations with distingusihed conductors and soloists, he also performed at concerts and in various productions with Sumi Jo, Veronika Dzihoeva, Maida Hundeling, Veselina Kasarova, Tibor Bogany, Loris Voltolini, Nikša Bareza, Jan Latham-Koenig, Jaroslav Kyzlink, Ricardo Casero, Alberto Martinolli, Stephano Pellegrino, Uroš Lajovic, Marko Letonja, Daniel Lipton, Alexandar Marković, Yordan Kamdzhalov, Marc Tardue and others.
