Kristina Kolar

She studied and graduated at the Music Academy in Zagreb where she graduated solo singing in 2006. She appeared in numerous memorable roles, such as Miss Jessel (The Turn of the Screw) , Tatiana (Evgenij Onjegin), Micaëla (Carmen), Cleopatra (Juliet Caesar in Egypt), Sophie (Werther), Desdemona (Otello), Alice (Falstaff), Mimì (La Bohème), Juliette (Romeo et Juliette), Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro), Jelena (Nikola Šubić Zrinjski). The latter was recorded by the German label CPO.

She also sang the role of Tatiana, in the opera Evgenij Onjegin, in Krakow, with Marius Kwiecien, one of today’s leading baritones, who played the role of Onjegin.

She successfully presented herself in the role of Desdemona in Otello (the opera was awarded with the Croatian Actor Reward) to the audience in Zagreb and was praised by the critics. She has received a great number of prestigious awards, such as the Croatian Theatre Award for the role of Miss Jessel in Benjamin Britten’s Turn of the Screw and many others.
