Luis Chapa

He studied opera singing at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, U.K.  He made his Metropolitan Opera debut as Pinkerton in Anthony Minghella’s production of Madama Butterfly and built his career in famous opera houses like the Shanghai Opera, Seattle Opera, Oldenburg State Theater in Germany, North Opera in British Leeds, The Essen Theater and the Theater Freiburg in Germany, the Dorset Opera Festival in the United Kingdom, the Heidenheim Festival in Germany, the Swiss National Theater in Bern, the Polish National Opera in Warsaw, the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Hong Kong City Hall in China and to many others. He collaborated with famous conductors such as A. Allemandi, M. Bosch, D. Callegari, S. Dinich, A. Fischa, R. Frizza, A. Joel, G. Kuhn, C. Montanaro, PG Morandi, D. Renzetti, S. Soltesh and others.

He sang numerous roles, such as Radamès (Aida), Andrea Chenier (Andrea Chénier), Don Jose (Carmen), Don Carlo (Don Carlo), Otello (Otello), Pollione (Norma), Maurizio (Adriana Lecouvreur) Don Alvaro (La forza del destino) and other. Chapa has also had notable concert engagements with famous orchestras such as Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra, Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, Philharmonic Orchestra of Pamplona and others.
