Marin Blažević

Dramaturge, opera director, creative producer, author and editor of books and academic journals, theatre and performance studies scholar from Rijeka and Zagreb, formerly associate professor at the Academy od Dramatic Arts and Music Academy in Zagreb, adjunct associate professor at the Columbia University School of the Arts in New York, as well as lecturer at numerous universities worldwide. He was Artistic Director of the Rijeka CNT Opera Company 2014-2016. In 2017 he was appointed General Manager and Artistic Director of the CNT Ivan pl. Zajc in Rijeka; his second term started in January this year. Among many of his theatrical projects, most prominent are stagings of the following operas: Händel’s Giulio Cesare in Egitto, Verdi’s Otello, Macbeth, Falstaff, Aida and La Traviata, Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette (coproduction of CNT Opera in Rijeka and Ravenna Manifestazioni – Teatro Alighieri), Strauss’s Elektra (in partnership with Cankarjev dom in Ljubljana and Slovenian Philharmonic), Bizet’s Carmen (co-staged with Selma Banich, Sandra Dekanic and Alan Vukelic), Puccini’s Tosca.
